MOTION CAPTURE!

We are 2K Mocap - a lean, efficient motion capture studio that produces mocap, audio, and video assets for our developers and clients across two motion capture stages. We take great pride in our ability to capture, clean, solve, retarget, and deliver truly remarkable amounts of data at the highest quality. We work closely with developers and artists to acquire mocap data, audio, and video assets. We operate a state-of-the-art system, test and implement new technology, and pride ourselves at being the best in our field. What You Will Do

You will learn from knowledgeable industry professionals how to operate our equipment and execute our pipelines with respect to body, audio and facial data. You will also contribute to the daily tasks of the performance capture process and daily upkeep of the studio including: ● Data quality assurance.

  • Calibrating and operating the capture system and ROM Volume.
  • Markering the talent and facilitating flow of morning operations.
  • Maintenance and optimization of the mocap volume, our equipment, and wardrobe.
  • Setting up and breaking down sets.
  • Making and markering props.
  • Shoot preparation tasks for various projects.
  • Communicating statuses of talent and assets to the Stage team during a shoot day. Assist with Real Time actor and props streaming on set.
  • Collaborate on facial capture acquisition and maintenance of the HMC equipment.

Who We Think Will Be a Great Fit

  • You have an aptitude for learning while taking and giving direction tactfully.
  • You value a positive attitude, comradery and are detail oriented.
  • You have a solid understanding of MotionBuilder or Maya.
  • Experience operating a motion capture system (OptiTrack or Vicon) preferred.
  • You stay focused, proactive, and alert in a busy atmosphere always looking for ways to improve efficiency under tight deadlines.
  • You are comfortable interacting with talent (actors and athletes), and developers/clients.
  • Constantly striving to keep abreast of the next generation of mocap pipelines and processes excites you.
  • You are able to stay calm under pressure.
  • You understand the importance of teamwork.
  • You are comfortable moving sets, mounting cameras, and contributing to overall upkeep of the studio.
  • You are open to the potential of shifting priorities and are able to adapt. Minimum

Requirements:

  • 1+ years motion capture industry experience or related internship.
  • Education in the field of 3D Animation or Motion Capture.
  • Exposure to either Vicon Blade or OptiTrack Motive.
  • Proficient with Autodesk MotionBuilder or Maya.
  • Knowledge audio editing, motion capture data cleaning, and programming are a plus.
  • Experience with facial capture is a plus.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine is a plus

This is a temporary assignment that is expected to last up to 12 months and will be on-site 5 days a week.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected
