Job Description:

Summary:

Join the American University School of International Service (SIS) as a Resident Assistant (RA) for our two-week Community of Scholars (CoS) pre-college program. Help high school students have an amazing campus experience! Previous RA experience is a plus, but all motivated candidates are encouraged to apply.

Essential Functions:

• Be the go-to contact for about 10 students.

• Keep students informed and engaged with program events.

• Chaperone afternoon visits and evening activities.

• Supervise free time and study periods.

• Handle student concerns and emergencies.

• Participate in weekend activities (July 11–12).

• Rotate on-call shifts for mornings and nights.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

• Part-time.

• 20 hours per week.

Salary Range:

• $1,300.00 stipend.

Required Education and Experience:

• Current undergraduate or graduate student.

• Strong communicator and team player.

• Able to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.

• Leadership and problem-solving skills.

• Comfortable lifting up to 25 lbs.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

• Training takes place on Zoom, Wednesday and Thursday, July 1 & 2.

• In-person orientation, Saturday, July 4 (afternoon).

• Housing and meals provided.

• One evening off during the program.
