Job Summary
 

The Department of Medicine, Section of Cardiology is looking for a Senior Project Manager to work on overseeing and managing several ongoing projects collecting clinical, functional and survey data related to electrophysiology. The Senior Project Manager will help with: a) setting up and maintenance of a database for all research being done in the lab; b) set up all research equipment, with a focus on setting up electrophysiology equipment; c) write software to perform key electrophysiological analysis and d) develop signal processing algorithms to assess the content of electrophysiological signals obtained during experimental research.

Responsibilities

  • Provide solutions to complex problems that are encountered in electrophysiologic research.

  • Provide analysis and prepare results for presentation at meetings, and publish through refereed journals.

  • Manages research staff, computing staff, post graduate and medical student computing and budgets for sponsored projects.

  • Composes proposals for unfunded or underfunded research.

  • Provides work direction and/or supervises staff such as team members, subordinates, contractors, vendors, students, etc.

  • Manages overall project outcomes and stakeholders expectations.

  • Manages projects and programs and internal review of new business contracts.

  • Oversees Information Technology (IT) and related virtual and physical infrastructure projects,  services and project management practices for each of the project teams.

  • Develops SOWs, project charters, and project plans.

  • Solves complex problems relating to the administration of projects, including planning new procedures, adapting existing procedures to the needs of the project, and making significant contributions to methodology.

  • Presents research findings at meetings and conferences, as well as to funding agencies. Conducts literature reviews. Develop and maintain liaisons and effective working relations with groups and individuals, agencies, and the public to encourage cooperative management strategies or to develop information and interpret findings.

  • Performs other related work as needed.


Minimum Qualifications
 

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
