JOB SUMMARY:

Join Medline’s UNITE team as a Quality Supervisor in the Orthopedics division. In this role, you’ll lead quality assurance efforts and oversee inspections that directly influence patient outcomes and product reliability. You’ll work cross-functionally to uphold standards, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance across orthopedic product lines. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in QA and a passion for advancing healthcare through precision and integrity.

Oversee and manage the quality control program and personnel at multiple distribution centers within a designated region spanning multiple states. Comply with Medline SOP’s and state and federal guidelines, inspections, product disposition, holding and releasing of product. Update policies and procedures.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure all distribution centers within designated region are in compliance with all state and federal regulations for medical goods distribution facilities; advise distribution center personnel when updates or changes are needed.
  • Complete on-site visits to all distribution centers within designated region; provide coaching and development to Quality personnel and meet with Operations partners to develop and implement initiatives designed to increase efficiency and compliance.
  • Manage all distribution center quality workloads within designated region. Prioritize and allocate labor across distribution centers to serve Quality needs and workload volume fluctuations.
  • Monitor labor staffing and implement Quality Support Team travel amongst distribution centers as needed.
  • Develop and implement metrics for monthly incentives; compile data and issue monthly bonuses based on targeted metrics; develop performance improvement programs for employees not meeting goals.
  • Review SOP’s and distribution center processes for continued compliance; provide suggestions for enhancements and complete updates as needed.
  • Compile monthly financial reports and submit data to finance group for accurate cost allocation.
  • Advise and assist divisional partners with incoming item, container, and purchase order holds for quality evaluation, including FDA designated holds and recalled products.
  • Advise and assist divisional partners with stock check, deviation, and rework coordination; including review, distribution, and results tracking of initiated projects.
  • Assist Operations with on-site visits from external entities including FDA and Board of Pharmacy. Assist Operations with identification of compliance issues; provide solutions to maintain audit ready status.
  • Work closely with Operations Inventory Control to ensure high level of product integrity.

Management responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day activities and outcomes of a group of employees.
  • Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience

  • At least 4 years’ experience in Quality Control.
  • Experience in medical device and/or drug manufacturing setting.
  • Experiencing conducting audits related to Quality Control. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Intermediate level understanding of FDA/ QSR/ ISO14551 guidelines.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of ANSI/ ASQCZ1.4-current revision.
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).
  • Position requires travel up to 40% outside of state.
  • Position also requires:
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Sit, walk or stand for prolong periods of time, with frequent bending and kneeling
  • Close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments, (32F – 95F).
  • Ability to encompass heights.

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience in Quality Systems Regulations and Medical Devices.
  • Experience operating Material Handling equipment.
