This role in summary
Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for a Color Material and Finish Designer. This role is for our Benton Harbor, MI location.
The CMF Designer will support the creation of strategic palette development for use across Whirlpool's global product portfolio. The CMF designer will also ensure CMF strategies support and further enhance the brand experience.
This position is multi-disciplinary- the desire and ability to seamlessly work with other functions [Industrial Design, Interactive Design, Graphic Design, Marketing, and Engineering] in our US, Asia, Europe, Latin America and Mexico studios is critical.

A portfolio highlighting multiple projects and your direct contributions will be needed to be considered for the role.

Your responsibilities will include
- Support the strategy and implementation of color, material and finish solutions for multiple brands of home appliances
- Forecast and analyze color, material and finish trends
- Present and communicate color direction and strategy to a wide audience
- Produce high quality renderings to effectively illustrate CMF solutions
- Collaborate with other design disciplines, product marketing, engineering, and vendors to execute on project objectives, deliverables, and timelines
- Maintain and communicate CMF strategy documents
- Contribute to the maintenance of the CMF library
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Design
- 2+ years of professional design experience in a corporate or consultant environment
Preferred skills and experiences
- Demonstrate passion for color and design
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to facilitate communication across different disciplines
- Strong visual communication skills
- Ability to effectively sell your ideas
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong decision-making abilities and self-motivation
- Strong working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and KeyShot
- 3D modeling ability is a plus
