Software Engineer - Host networking

The DC Networking team is responsible for developing, deploying, and operating Meta's global data center networks. Our work covers the entire network lifecycle, including hardware development, capacity planning, distributed and centralized control systems, modeling/provisioning/automation, monitoring/troubleshooting/analytics, and simulation/design/failure analysis.

We are actively seeking Software Engineers to help build and scale our rapidly evolving network infrastructure. • Design and implement drivers for (network) ethernet adapter functions, Transport stack for TCP and, control functions with the host/accelerators.
• Design and implement novel optimizations for performance and congestion control specifically for AI workloads
• Develop and enhance HPC collective communication and parallel computing libraries such as NCCL, RCCL, OneCCL, and MPI Debug complex, system-level, multi-component issues that typically span across multiple layers from Kernel, and user-mode applications.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in C/C++ and Python
• 1+ years experience in Systems programming, TCP/IP stack, network drivers
• Experience with network devices (routers, switches, load balancers) and an understanding of network routing protocols
• Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Linux Kernel, especially drivers and TCP stack
• Working knowledge of optimizations, congestion control aspects of TCP in large scale networks
• Experience with parallel computing platforms such as CUDA, RoCM and OpenCL Platform services (program, control, and monitor Optics, PHY, FPGAs, sensors, fan control, power etc), BSP/Board Support Package, Operating Systems, Kernel, Bootloader, Power Management, RTOS, Linux is preferable
• Experience with GPUs/AI Accelerators/HPC systems in a large scale environment is plus

US$70.67/hour to US$208,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
