The Retirement Relationship Manager position is a resource, advocate, and valued partner for key accounts and external distribution. This role will collaborate across multiple functional areas to enhance distributor and customer experience and to ensure operational alignment and readiness for annuity and SPWL distribution.

Responsibilities:

  • Is the Divisional “face of Protective” relative to operational contacts at distribution partners
  • Maintains skill level and expertise regarding Retirement products
  • Provides account-level firm support on daily business needs and problems, coordinating resolution with internal partners on questions, special requests, exceptions, escalations, and field technology issues, ensuring adherence to compliance and guidelines; communicates post-resolution
  • Serves as an internal liaison, representing the needs of applicable distribution channels within operations
  • Assists in the development of value-added programs and resources designed to enhance the sale of products and support key distribution partners
  • Assists in negotiation on behalf of distribution partners to secure needed resources and prioritization; helps to coordinate internal teams to ensure operational alignment and readiness
  • Acts as a key point of contact for sales leadership to maintain alignment with Division strategy; proactively communicates around changes or issues
  • Partners with leadership to identify enhanced distributor and customer experience
  • Actively participates in industry-focused groups, conferences, and committees
  • Represents operations, evangelizing our value proposition and benefits, at firm visits, key admin meetings, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • This candidate will spend time largely in these areas:
  • 85% direct collaboration with distribution partner relationship contacts, executing strategy
  • 5% driving business acumen on the team through firm feedback, best practice sharing
  • 10% focused on industry trends/representation, emerging technology, and required capabilities
  • Periodic travel would be anticipated to industry events, partner visits, engagement activities, and business planning sessions

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years related experience in the financial services industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related area or discipline; industry designations or licenses preferred
  • Must possess strong knowledge of annuity/SPWL products and distribution channels
  • Understanding of legal, compliance, and suitability issues related to the sales and marketing of investment products
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to identify and champion operational efficiencies and effectiveness through the implementation of processes, technologies, and quantitative measurements
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Drive for results: the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, manage money environment

Salary and Incentives: Protective’s targeted salary range for this position is $60,000 to $78,000. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective’s total compensation package for employees.
This position also offers additional incentive opportunities through an annual incentive based on individual and Company performance.
