About the role
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform complex welding operations (MIG) on a variety of materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
- Conduct inspections and ensure welds meet quality and code standards.
- Set up and operate welding equipment and tools.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
- Adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work under the direction of the supervisor to move Wind Towers, Set up MIG Welders.
- Follow and complete daily build schedule.
- Weld, grind and repair each Wind Tower section prior to presenting to Quality Inspectors.
- Clamp, grind, tack-weld, or bolt components into position before welding.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of welding experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Proficient in multiple welding techniques and procedures.
- Ability to read blueprints and welding specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Physically demanding industrial setting involving exposure to heat, noise, and heavy machinery.
- Frequent use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including welding helmet, gloves, and protective clothing.
- Standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods; occasional work in confined spaces or elevated platforms.
