Job Description

As a Security Guard - Distribution Site in Newark, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution and more .

As a Screener with Allied Universal at a logistics and distribution location, you will play a key role in helping to maintain a secure environment for all personnel and visitors. Your responsibilities will include monitoring access points, verifying credentials, and conducting routine patrols to help deter security-related incidents. You will be a visible presence, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication to everyone you encounter. This position offers the opportunity to interact with a diverse group of people while utilizing technology such as computers or tablets. What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
• Screen individuals, vehicles, and/or packages entering or exiting the logistics and distribution location to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain compliance with site protocols.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter potential security-related concerns and observe for any unusual activity.
• Document and report any security-related incidents, observations, or concerns according to site and Allied Universal procedures.
• Collaborate with site personnel and Allied Universal management to address security-related needs and support the overall operation of the logistics and distribution location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
