Job Description

As a Security Officer - Armed - Access Control and Patrol in the Tremont and Hamburg, PA areas, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As a Full-Time, Armed Security Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment by conducting routine patrols throughout the site that you're assigned to. Your visible presence will help to deter security-related incidents while you provide exceptional customer service and clear communication to all individuals on site. This position requires Act 235 qualification, as it is an armed post. Pay Rate: $31.20 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
  • Preserve order and enforces rules, regulations, and directives for the viability of the site.
  • Maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices and weapons.
  • Greet guests and employees, assisting where appropriate; escort visitors and contractors, secure ingress and egress points, secure classified information.
  • Follow site-specific performance manuals and post orders, reporting safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances via written and verbal communication; interact with client and/or other security personnel regarding order execution when appropriate.
  • Respond to and assesses security alarms or emergency alarms; act as a first responder in emergency situations and provide first aid as necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be able and willing to travel to both the Tremont and Hamburg, PA areas.
  • Act 235 Qualification is required for positions in Pennsylvania only.
  • Must have a PA Concealed Carry Weapons permit.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have 2+ years combined of Armed Security / Law Enforcement / Armed Corrections or the equivalent.
  • Must have the ability to Pass a Physical that includes: push-ups, sit-ups and a cardiovascular related stress test.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
