Purpose
The Biophotonics Laboratory in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin is searching for a postdoctoral fellow to develop optical imaging tools for the surgical guidance of tumor resections. This position is supported by a new five year NIH grant. The project is a collaboration between UT Austin BME and UT Austin's Dell Medical School.

Responsibilities
- Develop/fabricate custom microscopy instruments to image tissues
- Collaborate with physician colleagues at UT Dell Medical School
- Publish research results in national and international journals and conferences
- Supervise and mentor students
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
PhD in engineering, physics or related physical sciences. Demonstrated ability to fabricate/build electro-optical systems such as custom microscopes and spectroscopy systems. Enthusiasm for working collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in working with biological systems/tissues is preferred but not required.
Salary
$53,460 + depending on experience
