Job Summary:
Assists OR staff by obtaining needed resources, transporting specimens, returning equipment, maintaining an aseptic environment, and maintaining clean and orderly appearance of the department and related equipment. Assists with transportation and positioning of the patients under direct supervision.

Responsible for turnover of rooms. Demonstrates understanding and indications of cleaning solutions and required contact time.
Prepares stretchers / beds for postoperative transport.
Assists in transferring / positioning patients under direct supervision.
Obtains necessary equipment and positioning supplies needed for cases and assures all scheduled cases have complete case carts.
Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of surgery suites, sterile rooms and ancillary rooms.
Checks, cleans and restocks surgical suites, sterile rooms and ancillary rooms. Returns equipment and supplies to appropriate location.
Maintains communication with assigned rooms, clinical coordinators, and control desk charge nurse.
Demonstrates the ability to operate autoclave and rapid readout and document appropriately.
Manages oxygen tanks- transports and switches out empty oxygen tanks with full oxygen tanks, separates full, in use, and empty tanks.
Checks and restocks blanket warmers and fluid warmers. Monitors and records temperatures for all refrigerators and fluid warmers in the department and reports problems.
Handles and delivers laboratory specimens correctly and timely to the lab. Transports blood and other products from the lab to the OR suites. Transports case carts to SPD.
Answers intercom and pages promptly and courteously respond to needs.
Terminally disinfects ultrasound probe.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures Required:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. require
