Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspect, maintain, and modify ground equipment used in the support of ASIG operations.
- Service equipment with fuel, water, oil, hydraulic fluid, and compressed air.
- Troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, and modify ground equipment.
- Diagnose problems using test equipment, and applicable manuals.
- Remove, test, repair or replace components and accessories such as carburetors, governors, air and oil cleaners, ignition points and auditory sensors.
- Check and adjust tolerance of valves, bearings, cams, clutches, and drive shafts.
- Operate and test ground equipment for performance assessment.
- Replace bearings, bushings, shafts, end plates, brushes, springs, coils, armatures, push rods, valves, manifolds, tubing, hose, and wiring as required.
- Follow company safety policies and procedures.

Knowledge of all aspects of ground support equipment used in the operation. Must provide necessary tools.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, supervisor, as well as other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Driver's License. Possess/maintain a valid driver’s license and other FAA Airport required identification/seals or authorizations. [Some States, i.e. Hawaii may require an additional State Mechanic’s license]

The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
