Staff Accountant

 

 

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have experience in general ledger (GL) accounting, account reconciliations, and a solid understanding of government contracting, including cost principles and regulatory compliance (FAR, CAS, DCAA).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Prepare and post general ledger entries, accruals, and adjustments in accordance with GAAP.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations and internal controls specific to government contracting.
  • Assist with audits, including DCAA and financial statement audits.
  • Maintain documentation for accounting procedures and policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project management and compliance.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in accounting, with emphasis on reconciliations and GL accounting.
  • Prior experience working for a government contractor is required.
  • Familiarity with FAR, CAS, and DCAA requirements.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and advanced formulas.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Experience with indirect rate structures and cost allocations.
