We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated High-Voltage (HV) Validation Engineer to join our propulsion systems team. In this role, you will be responsible for HV validation to ensure diagnostics meet functional safety and performance requirements across various powertrain configurations. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and perform on-vehicle testing using development or production intent vehicles, including transportation and instrumentation setup.
  • Develop and calibrate battery diagnostics based on system requirements and meet safety release requirements at appropriate program milestones.
  • Develop HV system validation procedures that align with internal requirements and external government regulations.
  • Perform and review DVP&R (Design Verification Plan and Report) before validation and define test protocols and test tools if needed.
  • Analyze large and complex engine mapping datasets to identify and resolve system-level issues related to functional safety.
  • Root cause analysis and data collection, applying structured problem-solving techniques (5Y, Fishbone diagrams).
  • Work cross-functionally with development teams, powertrain controls, and vehicle integration teams to deliver solutions that meet program goals.
  • Report vehicle issues discovered during validation to appropriate issue management tracking systems.
  • Lead and participate in review meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and participate in corrective action meetings to drive improvements through calibration and software updates.
  • Generate technical reports and documentation to support calibration and validation activities.
  • Provide data (CAN, INCA) and CDA (Chrysler Diagnostic Application) scans to facilitate issue reporting.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering field from an accredited university. Other Engineering disciplines may be considered.
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in ePT development, powertrain systems development or control systems development or diagnostics within the automotive industry.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of high-voltage systems and powertrain validation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science from an accredited university
  • 5+ years of experience in high-voltage system development, powertrain systems development /control systems development / diagnostics within the automotive industry Calibration process knowledge using design of experiments and advanced optimization techniques
  • Proficiency with calibration tools such as INCA and CDA, X-plot
  • Ability to interface with software and read Simulink models via MATLAB tools.
  • Functional Safety standard knowledge with ISO26262 training.
  • Proficient in advanced simulation tools
  • Proficient in Matlab / Simulink
