Director Data Center- US (IL)

Ensures that production schedules are met and the Data Center maintains 100% uptime. Ensures adherence to quality control standards. Monitors and reports on operation of Data Center to senior management. Recommends changes in procedures or equipment that would increase productivity and better serve Data Center requirements. Implements standardized work procedures that are documented, followed and regularly audited.

Responsibilities

• Supervises day-to-day activities of Data Center employees.
• Coordinates with vendors and contractors to ensure Data Center needs are met in a timely and cost effective manner.
• Works with finance and Data Center leadership to develop and manage a multimillion dollar budget.
• Utilize visual metrics to track and display team performance against expectations.
• Maintains a meticulous level of housekeeping throughout the DC.
• Recommends employees for hiring, firing, promotions and demotions.
• Provides input on pay reviews.
• Prepares and performs performance appraisals.
• Oversees company owned equipment to maintain ownership/responsibility in coordination with internal controls

Knowledge

• Advanced knowledge Windows/Linux OS, building systems (HVAC, UPS, Electrical, Fire Suppression and Monitoring), Data Center Management and Inventory.

Experience

• 7+ years’ experience in data center management.
• 7+ years’ experience in Facilities Management.
• Experience working in both modes of Data Center Management: deployment and maintenance.
• 7+ years’ experience leading large, diverse teams.
• Proven track record of Change Management and Incident Management
