The Boeing Company is looking for an Experienced Real-time Software Engineer to join the B-52 Radar Modernization Program Software team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

Build your career by helping us integrate new software systems into the B-52 platform. Develop real-time software solutions, utilize simulations and emulations, and develop software processes in order to meet customer capabilities on the B-52 platform. This role is for the Radar Modernization Program software team, where we are integrating a new radar onto the B-52.

The RMP software team is a large software development team comprised of several smaller agile teams, some with specialized skills. Our backlog includes everything from new feature development using cutting-edge technology to maintenance of legacy software baselines. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working in an often fast-paced environment within a two-week "sprint" schedule. Adaptability, the ability to work closely with others and an open mind are essential attributes of team members. Experience in software development is required, and agile development experience is highly beneficial.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.

  • Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system.

  • Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.

  • Supports software project management and software supplier management functions.

  • Selects, tailors and deploys processes and tools; establishes metrics.

  • Performs software research and trade studies.

  • Troubleshoots software issues.

  • Works under general supervision.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance (post-start).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in real-time software development

  • 3+ years of experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (including Requirements Analysis, Design, Code, Integration and Test)

  • 3+ years of experience in software development and testing tools (e.g., editors, compilers, linkers, simulations, configuration management tools, requirements management tools) capability and usage

  • Experience with software lifecycle practices, agile methodology, and repositories, such as JIRA and Git

  • Experience with Ada

  • Experience with DevSecOps

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelor’s, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • Experience with real-time software architecture, development, design

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Travel:

Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.
