FL General Maintenance Technician

PURPOSE: The Property Maintenance Technician is responsible for a variety of general maintenance needs including plumbing, electrical, hvac, etc. 

Respond to assigned maintenance requests in a timely manner 

• Check assigned work orders daily. 
• Assess material or tool needs and communicate them to the Facilities Manager daily. 
• Flexibility for on call service after hours and weekends. 

Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, etc 

• Have a strong understanding of plumbing repairs and installations 
• Have a strong understanding of electrical circuits, single and three phase, for repairs 
• Have general knowledge of AC electrical functions.  Thermostats, contactors, capacitors, and low voltage switches. 
• Perform AC system preventative maintenance.   Replace filters, clean drain lines and coils. 

Equipment Operation and Repair 

• Responsible for light repairs on equipment, and campus work vehicles. 
• Ability to operate heavy equipment, forklifts, and tractors. 
• Experience with welding and cutting is preferred, but not essential.
