Job Description:
Summary:
The Technical Writer is responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation and UX writing for our cyber security and networking products. This includes writing user manuals, API documentation, and other technical content. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cyber security and networking concepts, as well as excellent writing and editing skills. In addition, the Technical Writer will be responsible for creating UX-focused content, such as micro copy, error messages, and help text.
Responsibilities:
- Write clear and concise technical documentation that is easy to understand for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Gather and synthesize information from a variety of sources, including technical specifications, user feedback, and product demonstrations.
- Work with engineers and product managers to understand product requirements and ensure that documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Use a variety of writing and editing tools to create high-quality documentation.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in cyber security and networking technologies.
- Create UX-focused content that is clear, concise, and easy to understand.
- Work with designers and engineers to ensure that UX content is aligned with product goals.
- Ability to work independently and a self-starter
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in technical writing, communications, Computer Science, certifications, or a related field.
- Proven experience,2+ years in technical writing in the cybersecurity field, and 2+ years of experience as a technical writer.
- Excellent writing, communication, and editing skills In English.
- Strong understanding of cyber security and networking concepts 2+ years.
- Ability to work independently and as a strong team player as well.
- Experience in UX writing – 2+ years
- Foundation knowledge of DevOps tools (Jira, Confluence, ReadMe) – 1+ years
The preferred location for this role is Dallas, but if a candidate is extremely qualified the team may consider other areas of Texas and candidates located within the United States.
