Job Description

The Patient Educator reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Patient Educator is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating educational activities for the assigned service.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with nurse managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
• Develops, implements and evaluates educational plans/programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.
• Serves as a consultant for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.
• Participates in the coordination and continuity of orientation programs, including preceptor programs

Qualifications

Required:

• Master’s degree in Nursing
• Registered Nurse in state of Illinois
• CPR - Basic Life Support
