The People and Culture Business Partner is responsible for completing a variety of responsibilities to support the daily operations of the department.   Duties including support of our team members on a day to day basis, ownership of full cycle recruitment, understanding of HR laws and regulations, working with other members of the department to oversee the hiring and onboarding processes for team members quality assurance and helping keep the company a great place to work while handling the behind the scenes logistics related to various regulations and requirements.   Depending on hiring level needs, this role can be fully cross-functional with other People and Culture roles (HR specific)

Essential functions

  • Finding, sourcing, and white glove service recruiting for Angel Studios Hiring Managers
  • Facilitate hiring, screening and interview process of qualified job applicants for open positions 
  • Own the communication, management and collaboration  with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Decision making ability in relation to compensation mapping, Job Description evaluation and planning
  • Conduct intake interviews  with hiring managers and applicable persons as needed to verify and validate the need of positions being requested for hire. 
  • Recommend strategies to motivate team members and cultivate a culture of light
  • Update records and associated processes related to  team members and current work status in a timely manner (new hire, termination, leave, etc.)
  • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly and with accuracy
  • Support People and Culture Manager and Director as needed and proactively
  •  Produce, audit and submit reports on general HR activities and processes
  • Generate audits weekly and as needed and applicable  related to  team members (401K, benefits, Cobra, etc.) and business analytics
  • Implement and assists in new hire orientations and employee recognition programs as needed
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Proactively aware and mitigating compliance needs and identifying efficiencies in processes
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves, benefits, and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Assist in development and implementation of people and culture/human resource policies, systems, and contracts
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, team members, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate team members.
  • Attend and participate in team member coaching and support 
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and compliance needs in  human resources and talent management.
  • Must attend and contribute to regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing in the English language required.  Additional
