The anticipated salary range for this role is between $90,000.00 and $170,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Description
As a member of SMBC America’s Sourcing & Procurement team, which sits within the Finance organization, the Vice President (VP), Planning & Execution will have diverse responsibilities for supporting end-to-end delivery of strategic planning efforts. These responsibilities will include: supporting project management for key initiatives; delivering change management efforts in collaboration with Business partners and other stakeholders; coordinating the Sourcing & Procurement environmental, social, and governance (ESG) efforts, including supplier diversity; coordinating the delivery of SMBC data governance program requirements for Sourcing & Procurement; and delivering a range of ongoing status reporting within the Bank, leveraging standardized templates and communication channels.
As a key member of a small team, a successful candidate will have excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills. He or she must have the flexibility to respond to dynamic priorities, the ability to work independently, and strong collaboration skills. This Vice President is an individual contributor role reporting into the Head of Strategy, Governance, and Analytics.
Role Objectives
Delivery
- Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Supporting end-to-end delivery of strategic planning efforts
- Supporting project management for key Sourcing & Procurement initiatives
- Delivering change management efforts in collaboration with Business partners and other stakeholders
- Coordinating the Sourcing & Procurement environmental, social, and governance (ESG) efforts - including supplier diversity
- Coordinating the delivery of SMBC data governance program requirements for Sourcing & Procurement
- Delivering a range of ongoing status reporting within the Bank leveraging standardized templates and communication channels.
- Work with key business stakeholders, technology teams, and other procurement partners to gather requirements, assess current state and future state processes, perform gap analyses, and thoroughly document business requirements
- Ensure appropriate planning, training, and stakeholder engagement to facilitate effective adoption of new processes, procedures, operational tools, and/or technology while driving continuous improvement
- Prepare strategic business analyses, including preparing presentations and reporting materials for senior management
- Support other Sourcing & Procurement priorities, as needed
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven strategic planning, execution, and change management experience
- Experience enabling, improving, and supporting operational processes
- Sourcing & Procurement knowledge and experience preferred
- Banking/Finance industry experience preferred
- Ability to understand complex concepts and operational problems, and ability to clearly explain/translate them to peers to enable effective decision making and deliv
