Summary of Job Duties:

The Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist in Nutrition:
• Plans, directs, coordinates, and provides day-to-day administrative and programmatic supervision and oversight for Extension Nutrition and Food Science programs across the state.
• Ensures program quality and collaborates with Extension staff, partner organizations, and community stakeholders, and provides technical assistance and evaluation to establish and maintain program fidelity.
• Strategically and collaboratively designs, develops and implements policy initiatives that address health equity, cultural awareness, and health literacy to reduce health disparities.
• Manages strategic relationships for Extension Nutrition & Food Science programs, cultivates and maintains relationships with community partners, leaders, and community members, and provides subject matter expertise related to Extension nutrition and food science programming.
• Provides leadership and supervision for UADA Extension Nutrition & Food Science personnel and provides evidence-based support for County Extension Agents and programs used to deliver evidence-based programs.
• Secures external funding and serves as the PI or co-PI to support Extension community outreach initiatives.
• Oversees and provides evaluation guidance, technical assistance, and evaluation support for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of Extension Nutrition & Food Science programming and performance measures.
• Collaborates with departmental faculty, other CES Specialists, and FCS county agents on interdisciplinary programming and publications in peer-reviewed outlets, extension publications, web-based media,
