Job Description

Eurofins Environment Testing is seeking an experienced GC-MS manager in Savannah, GA. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Ensure that the quality policy program is understood, implemented, and maintained at all levels of the organization; identify, prevent, or correct any departures from the quality system
  • Assist in setting yearly cost and profit goals
  • Help staff develop their potential through training and team building
  • Plan and organize work flow for efficient operations
  • Perform analytical work as required
  • Supervise personnel; responsible for the direct management of Group Leaders and some non-leadership employees of the departments
  • Prepare and carry out performance appraisals of staff
  • Maintain technical competence in areas of oversight
  • Communicate company policies to staff
  • Maintain quality assurance program in the department
  • Maintain and promote safety program
  • Service clients through telephone contact, letters, reports, etc.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of instrumentation and equipment
  • Interview prospective employees and recommend hire; recommend termination for employees with unacceptable performance
  • Maintain client confidentiality
  • Provide written reports to management as required
  • Demonstrate commitment to quality through the application of quality principles (conformance to requirements, prevention, the zero defect standard, and participation in corrective action work groups)
  • Perform all functions in support of and in compliance with all state and federal employment regulations
  • Utilize PC applications (word processing, spreadsheet, database) to improve productivity
  • Assist in developing new markets for analytical services
  • Perform all functions in support of and in compliance with all state and federal employment regulations
  • Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field
  • 5 or more years of GC-MS instrumentation experience preferred
  • 3 years of supervisory experience preferred

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in designated areas
  • Strong problem solving skills, and ability and willingness suggest method modifications, etc.
  • Ability to organize work flow and communicate clearly and concisely
  • Ability to manage the work of other personnel and interact well with staff, colleagues, managers, and clients
  • Motivation to excel technically and as a supervisor; vision and long-range thinking; consciousness of, and a positive attitude toward, quality control and safety procedures;
  • Ability to multitask, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment  

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.  Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Savannah, GA are encouraged to apply.
