The Senior IT Manager will assist the Infrastructure and Help Desk teams with installation, configuration and maintenance of systems and equipment. The Senior IT Manager will support shipmates’ technology issues in a Tier 1 and Tier 2 capacity.
Role Summary
- The Senior IT Manager is pivotal in steering our IT operations in New York, leading the daily IT functions, offering project management expertise, and spearheading IT strategic initiatives. This role involves overseeing a skilled team of 6-8 IT professionals, engaging with vendors to enhance our technology infrastructure, and ensuring robust IT support to meet our operational goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities
Relationship Management:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of IT professionals, promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Forge and maintain productive relationships with IT vendors to achieve service level agreements and leverage these relationships for operational benefits.
- Partner with IT Project Managers to oversee local and broader IT shared services projects, providing vital on-site support and communications.
- Provide regular updates to the business unit General Manager and daily interactions with IT staff to ensure alignment of priorities and progress tracking.
- Contribute to strategic IT planning, including IT strategy development, budgeting, and governance.
- Deliver exceptional account management services, demonstrating adaptability in a dynamic and evolving workplace.
Server Administration:
- Install, configure, and maintain server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux/Unix) and related software.
- Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize server resources for maximum efficiency and reliability.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls on servers and network resources.
Network Administration:
- Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including physical cabling, cellular modems, wireless access points, routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and implement network security measures.
- Configure and manage network services such as DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.
Security Administration:
- Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect against cyber threats and unauthorized access.
- Conduct security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement remediation measures.
- Monitor security logs, investigate security incidents, and respond to security breaches in a timely manner.
Backup and Disaster Recovery:
- Implement and manage backup solutions to ensure the integrity and availability of critical data and systems.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures to minimize downtime and data loss in a disaster.
IT Operations:
- Build and maintain point of sale Infrastructure.
- Support vessel specific IT infrastructure such as TVs, media players, GPS tracking devices, NVRs/Cameras, and audio/visual systems.
System Monitoring and Maintenance:
- Monitor system health and performance using monitoring tools and utilities.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system updates, patches, and firmware upgrades.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure the stability and reliability of IT systems.
Documentation and Training:
- Create and maintain documentation for IT systems, procedures, and configurations.
- Provide training and support to end-users on IT systems, applications, and best practices.
