About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Security Architect, reporting to the Head of Security Architecture & Engineering, to lead our Security Architecture globally at Tunstall, positively impacting thousands of colleagues and millions of customers across 18 countries.

This is an incredibly exciting time to join Tunstall as we embark on an exciting period of transformation. You will be joining a recently created and growing global Information Security team within Tunstall and play a key part in the success of this transformation.  

This role could be based remotely or at our Madrid office working on a hybrid basis. We are flexible on number of days in the office, and on location and would consider applications from people who can work at one of our other European offices (Malmo, Sweden or Manchester, UK).

What will you be doing in this role?

As our Senior Security Architect, you will work as part of a recently created global information security team to drive the security architecture framework, contributing to flagship and key initiatives to embed security by design. You will also lead the market research and selection of new security solutions in various domains to meet capability needs.

Defining, maintaining and communicating the security architecture framework that expresses the key design decisions, main architectural patterns, security guidelines for architects, developers, and engineers to follow in all countries and at a group level is vital to the success of this role.


The Ideal candidate:

To be successful in this role you will have proven experience in cybersecurity roles, with a considerable amount of that experience as a security architect. You will have a deep understanding of the cybersecurity market, trends, vendors and security solutions and have demonstrable experience defining security architectures for large scale projects in complex, multinational organisations. Extensive and proven knowledge and experience with identity and access management, identity governance and administration, data security, application security and cloud security is required for this role.

With a strong technical background, a naturally collaborative style, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and an analytical mindset, you will be able to engage and influence senior stakeholders globally.

In addition, you will be proactive, with a high attention to detail, taking ownership of tasks, able to solve problems effectively, and be tenacious in your approach to ensure completion of tasks and projects to time and to required quality.

Some of your key tasks will be…

  • Define, maintain and communicate the security architecture framework that expresses the key design decisions, main architectural patterns, and security guidelines for architects, developers and engineers to follow in all countries and at Group level.
  • Maintain a portfolio of security solutions and a capability view that supports our roadmap and priorities. Hold influential discussions with vendors about future roadmaps and prepare plans towards improvement for existing security solutions.
  • Lead the market research and security solution selection in various domains, including Identity and Access Management, Identity Governance and Administration, data security, application security, cloud security, and more. Define the reference architecture for chosen solutions to smoothly integrate new security capabilities into our overall ecosystem.
  • Continuously challenge the suitability of our security controls and tools, and revisit whether we can improve or should replace. Prepare and communicate analysis reports describing existing gaps and suggested roadmap.
  • Support flagship and key Tunstall initiatives at global and regional level to ensure that security requirements are properly captured and that the architecture and technical designs embed security by design. Conduct security architecture reviews to ensure new strategic products and applications have the right controls in place.
