Entry Level - I & C Technician

Description

The Instrumentation & Control Technician is responsible for the assembly, installation, removal and replacement, disassembly, test functionality and operability, maintenance and repair of instrumentation systems and their associated system components. 

Requirements

• Troubleshoot and repair equipment and motor controls
• Dig trenches, fill, and cover
• Climb water towers, storage tanks, standpipes, and ladders
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install appropriately sized electrical conduit
• Pulling wiring through conduit and terminate wires
• Install electrical enclosures, radio towers (includes concrete work)
• Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and needs for adjustments, relocation, or replacement
• Control schematics
• Utilizes effective written and oral communication; plans and manages project communications
• Maintains a positive business relationship with clients as part of ongoing repeat business development efforts
• Optimizes project revenue and cost management to maximize profit while minimizing project overruns
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or associate degree in industrial technology
• Apprentice Electrical license or ability to be licensed as journeyman or master electrician 
• Minimum of six months related experience or training depending on level
• Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, control narratives, and procedure manuals
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team
• Reacts well under pressure and accepts  responsibility for own actions and decisions
• Excellent interpersonal skills
