Job Summary
This Operational Accounting Senior Accountant role supports the general accounting, financial reporting andmonth-end close processes for Harley-Davidson Financial Services (HDFS) and its bank subsidiary, EaglemarkSavings Bank (ESB). This position will also participate in functional and Company-wide projects, including activeinvolvement in systems testing and related work.
Job Responsibilities
- Leads in the completion of daily and monthly operational accounting areas of responsibility including the dailymanagement of an array of ESB and HDFS account reconciliations and schedules, monthly detailed analyses,and reports as necessary to assist in the month-end close process and quarterly reporting and analyses formanagement and HDFS, ESB and Harley-Davidson, Inc. reporting.
- Prepares quarterly regulatory reporting and year-end financial statements, including footnote disclosures forESB.
- Performs daily and monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, procedures, and other related tasks.
- Performs, establishes and drives implementation of best practices for creating monthly journal entries, accountreconciliations, procedures, and other related tasks.
- Leads ledger and sub-ledger systems testing, including the execution of departmental functional and regressiontest plans, identifying defects and seeking resolution
- Provides training and support to accounting staff and leads in system maintenance, including maintainingcurrent reporting requirements and other related aspects, with a focus on SAP and relevant sub-ledger systems.
- Assists with ad-hoc financial reporting requests, external and internal audits.
- Assists the accounting team with maintaining compliance with GAAP and other regulatory agency technicalguidance. This may include research-related projects, various ad-hoc financial reporting requests and otherspecial projects.
- Proactively brings identified issues and proposed solutions to the attention of management.
- Makes judgment, when called upon, regarding accounting treatment of individual items.
- Establishes relationships with other departments and acts as contact for internal/external auditors for areas ofresponsibility.

Experience Requirements
Required:
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience or 2 years public accounting experience.
- High level of professionalism
