Summary
The New York office of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP is looking for an entry-level Accountant to support the Finance & Accounting Department. Willkie is an elite international law firm of approximately 1,200 lawyers located in 16 offices in six countries.
The entry-level Accountant will support a variety of finance and accounting functions, many of which will be highly visible to top management. Besides general ledger accounting duties, this position will entail budgeting, tax and extensive special project work. The successful candidate will have experience will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and prior internship experience.

Responsibilities
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries
- Foreign operations accounting
- Prepare financial statements for internal and external reporting purposes
- Monthly variance analysis
- Account reconciliation preparation and analysis
- Overhead allocation of asset and costs between offices and departments
- Hands on experience in the preparation and analysis of budgets
- Work with department managers and provide actual to budget variance analysis
- Fixed Asset accounting
- Create presentations for management using Excel and PowerPoint
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- Strong academic and extracurricular/work record
- Excellent Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint
- Detail oriented, critical thinker and strong analytical skills
- Ability to extract information from various sources using reporting tools (Access, Crystal Reports).
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to detect and report data inconsistencies and out of balance data
- Effectively work individually or with group
ADA Requirements
- Ability to sit at a desk most of the working day and walk short distances
- Needs manual dexterity, speed and accuracy in handling office equipment
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption
- Ability to work in close proximity to other individuals
- Ability to carry light [to moderate] objects, e.g., files, small objects and supplies a short distance.
- Must be able to lift, carry and move objects [up to 15/20/25 lbs OR in excess of 25/30 lbs]

Pay Range
USD $70,000.00 - USD $70,000.00 /Yr.Pay Range Statement
The salary range for this role represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications and location.
