Position Summary

Walsh University and its growing DeVille School of Business invites applications (rank open) for a tenure-track or (non-tenure-track) position in as MBA Director beginning the fall of 2025. The preferred candidate will ideally hold an earned terminal degree (PhD, DBA) with a specialty in management, marketing, sports management, data analytics, finance, or economics, or a confirmed dissertation date from an accredited institution prior to the intended start-date. Applicants who hold an MBA Degree or specialized Masters Degree in a business or related field, will also be considered.

The successful candidate should be experienced and comfortable teaching in an environment that includes a catholic worldview as well as integrated and experiential learning pedagogy.

Walsh University is a Catholic Institution which offers liberal arts undergraduate, graduate, and adult completion programs and is dedicated to educating its students to become leaders in service to others through a value-based education with an international perspective in the Judeo-Christian tradition.

The three MBA degrees, a large online degree, a campus-based targeted at international students, and a specialized MBA degree in School District Leadership targeted at school district employees to wish to obtain their Ohio business manager’s license or their Ohio school treasurer’s license.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities: Reporting directly to the Dean, the successful candidate will play a vital role in the design and instruction of courses in both the undergraduate and MBA programs of the DeVille School of Business at Walsh University. The successful candidate will engage in administrative and teaching-related responsibilities and duties which include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with the Dean in strategy development and in the delivery of our three MBA programs
  • Exploring and pursuing growth possibilities across a range of opportunities
  • Staffing MBA classes
  • Answering inquiries from prospective students when those inquiries arise
  • Serving on the university graduate council
  • Working with other departments on campus to crate joint degrees
  • Working with undergraduate students interested in our 4+1 program
  • Instructing classes in the members area of specialty in the undergraduate and MBA programs, along with an appropriate expectation for scholarship (based upon rank)
  • Teaching specialization in management, sports management, marketing, data analytics, finance, or economics
  • Teaching, developing, and revising courses and curriculum for graduate and undergraduate programs
  • Participating in assurance of learning
  • Engaging with students inside of and outside of the classroom, mentor students, advise students, primarily graduate students, though potentially undergraduate students also
  • Attending and actively participating in general activities of the DeVille School of Business
  • Actively engaging in ongoing professional development in the field of instruction
