Chief of Staff
Array LabsPalo Alto, United Statesfull_timeVerifiedPosted 18 Dec 2025
About the role
At Array Labs, we are building the world’s most advanced radar imaging satellites to produce an accurate, continuously updated 3D map of the Earth — providing governments and commercial organizations with critical insights into the physical world.
We design and build our system end-to-end, from on-orbit hardware to ground software and data processing, which gives us direct control over performance, reliability, and the speed at which we can ship improvements.
The Chief of Staff to the CEO is a force-multiplier role that helps turn vision into execution. You will sit at the intersection of strategy, operations, and communication—structuring company priorities, driving cross-functional projects, and ensuring that decisions made at the leadership level turn into clear plans that the entire organization can understand and act on. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys operating in ambiguity, can zoom between high-level strategy and detailed execution, and takes satisfaction in creating alignment across a fast-growing, deeply technical company.

Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team, helping to translate long-term vision into clear, prioritized company objectives
- Design and run our planning cadence, including annual and quarterly goal-setting (e.g., OKRs), leadership offsites, and regular progress reviews
- Drive cross-functional initiatives that span engineering, operations, and go-to-market—for example: execution of key government programs, partner integrations (Maxar, Umbra, Esper, etc.), and headcount growth plans
- Own internal communication around strategy and major decisions, including preparing company-wide updates, leadership summaries, and content for All-Hands meetings
- Create and maintain lightweight systems for organizational clarity: decision logs, priority lists, and simple frameworks that help teams understand “what matters now and why”
- Partner closely with the CEO’s Executive Business Partner, who manages day-to-day logistics and communication mechanics, to ensure that how the CEO spends time (calendar, meetings, external commitments) matches the company’s stated priorities
- Support preparation for investor, customer, and government meetings by synthesizing inputs, structuring materials, and ensuring follow-through on commitments
- Serve as a sounding board and thought partner to the CEO and leadership team, bringing structured thinking, constructive challenge, and clear recommendations to complex questions
- Collaborate with Operations and People/HR leadership, while keeping this role focused on strategy, planning, and cross-functional execution rather than HR administration
Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in roles such as Chief of Staff, Strategy & Operations, Business Operations, Management Consulting, Product Operations, Co-founder, or similar
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects from definition through execution, with clear and measurable outcomes
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to synthesize complex technical and business topics into clear, concise documents and presentations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable working with metrics, project plans, and trade-off decisions
- High levels of ownership, discretion, and integrity in handling sensitive information
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and limited structure
- Genuine interest in understanding technical products and working closely with engineering and scientific teams
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience in a high-growth, venture-backed startup, ideally in deep tech, aerospace, defense, or complex B2B environments
- Prior experience as a Chief of Staff or as a strategy/ops partner to a CEO, founder, or senior executive
- Familiarity with OKR or similar goal-setting frameworks and comfort designing lightweight planning processes
- Experience supporting or interfacing with investors, board members, or government/enterprise customers
- Comfort working with geographically distributed teams and coordinating across multiple stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to build trust quickly, give and receive direct feedback, and influence without formal authority
ITAR Requirements
- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
