About the role

​​​​​​Nemours is seeking a part-time Medical Technologist to join our Nemours Children’s Hospital team in Wilmington, DE.

Duties include:  Performance of analytical procedures, using manual and automated methods, and through a variety of clinical laboratory methodologies (e.g., manual/visual plate-reading, microscopy, analyzer, rapid-test, etc.). Supervision is not required for specimen processing, test performance, reporting results of procedures with documented training. In this function, must be able to perform all required calibration, quality control, statistical calculations and other process control and mathematical functions. Associate must also be able to understand concepts such as linearity, standard deviation, control charts, etc., as these apply to the performance of analytical testing in a clinical laboratory. Specific procedures performed depend upon the associate’s specific assignment, for example, identifies bacteriological organisms in Microbiology, or performs analysis of potassium in Chemistry.

 

B. S. in Medical Technology (B.S.M.T. or equivalent, e.g., HHS examination or ability to meet CLIA qualifications for Moderate complexity laboratory testing)
