Oxford Life Insurance Company is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager to lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling activities. This individual will play a critical role in providing insights that support decision-making across departments, ensuring alignment with the company’s financial goals and regulatory obligations. The ideal candidate brings a strong insurance industry background and thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, working collaboratively with department leaders and executive management.
Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning, profitability analysis, and long-range forecasting.
Analyze financial results and key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Prepare and present monthly financial reports, variance analyses, and executive-level dashboards.
Partner with Accounting to ensure accuracy and consistency between actual results and projections.
Support ad hoc financial analysis to evaluate new business opportunities, product lines, and cost initiatives.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal controls and financial policies.
Collaborate cross-functionally to understand operational drivers and incorporate them into financial models and reporting.
Monitor industry trends and maintain up-to-date knowledge of NAIC statutory requirements and insurance regulatory changes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, with at least 2 years in the insurance industry.
Strong understanding of GAAP and NAIC statutory accounting principles.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling; experience with financial planning software (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Hyperion, or similar) is a plus.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to present financial information clearly to senior leadership.
CPA, CFA, or actuarial experience preferred but not required.
