The Boeing CompanyBoeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking Customer Engineering Manager (Level K) to lead teams in our Customer Engineering Core organization in Everett, Washington.
Position Overview:
As a Manager (Level K) in Customer Engineering Core, you will have the opportunity to lead a range of teams. From our Feature Managers to our Technical Writers, the Core organization works together locally and globally to drive strategy and develop features and enable offerings, communicate with Airplane Program Leadership, and ensure contractual and customer facing technical documentation meets our requirements. Position Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, strategy, guidance and support for Customer Engineering to ensure that market driven features are available.
Manage program feature offerings, technical expertise related to feature development, communication and cross-program alignment as well as integrating industry knowledge.
Establish, enhance, and ensure Customer Engineering for all Boeing Commercial Aircraft has common processes, efficient configuration tools/catalogs/data management, and effective interface across all Boeing Commercial Aircraft, Boeing Global Services, and our Customers, while ensuring export compliance.
Establish and maintain relationships as appropriate with external customers as well as internal organizations such as Sales, Marketing/Feature Strategy, Contracts, Business Operations, Customer Support, Boeing Global Services, Design Engineering, Supplier Management etc.
Lead integration with Customer Engineering global teammates and implement global strategy.
Maintain cross-model and cross-functional perspective and an understanding of the Programs' strategies and objectives as well as industry trends, customer requirements, and regulatory requirements.
Provide a management level airline interface on all configuration activities between an airplane program and external customers or participate/lead the development and implementation of strategies for a variety of commodities.
Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Systems Engineering.
Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures and set operational goals.
Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements.
Pro-actively lead, develop and inspire employees in their growth and pursuit of continuous, fearless learning.
Specific duties may vary based on assigned work responsibility within the organization.
Work Authorization:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Everett, WA
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
1+ years of experience managing or leading an engineering team
1+ years of experience working with multiple programs or functional teams
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Experience working with airline customers
