Job Summary
Responsibilities
Laboratory Support: Provide essential support in the laboratory, including setting up experiments, maintaining lab equipment, and ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
Sample Preparation: Prepare and handle biological samples, which may include DNA, RNA, proteins, and tissues, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols.
Data Collection: Accurately collect and record experimental data, making detailed observations during experiments and maintaining comprehensive lab notebooks.
Data Analysis: Assist with data analysis tasks, including data quantification, analysis software operation, and statistical analysis as needed.
Quality Control: Ensure quality control measures are followed in sample processing and experimental procedures to maintain the integrity of research data.
Inventory Management: Maintain stock levels of laboratory supplies, reagents, and consumables, and place orders as necessary.
Lab Safety: Adhere to safety protocols, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials, and contribute to maintaining a safe laboratory environment.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of lab equipment to ensure proper functionality.
Collaboration: Collaborate with researchers and scientists, providing assistance in ongoing experiments and projects, and actively participate in laboratory meetings and discussions.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, protocols, and results for easy reference and reproducibility.
Research Support: Assist with literature reviews and stay informed about the latest developments in molecular biology to contribute to the design and optimization of experiments.
Project Assistance: Support senior researchers in their research initiatives, including helping with project planning, data presentation, and the generation of figures and tables for research publications.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues that may arise during experiments or in laboratory procedures.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory guidelines in research activities.
Provides routine or standardized laboratory duties by collecting data in support of research projects under direct supervision.
Collects and enters data. Assists in the analysis of data and with the preparation of reports, manuscripts, and other documents.
Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have a four-year degree).---
