QA Engineer I (Supplier)

Overview

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) is looking for an experienced Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer I to join our Lincoln, NE organization. We are expanding rapidly and looking for motivated and creative individuals who want to help support and shape this organization as we grow. 

 

GD-OTS provides reliable and affordable composite products to the defense and commercial aerospace markets. With more than 60 years of expertise, GD-OTS designs, develops, manufactures, and tests a full range of composite missile and space structures, including rocket motors, pressure vessels, launch tubes and fuel tanks.

Major Position Responsibilities

• Establishes quality standards for products and processes and suggest modifications meant to prevent defects in components or final products.
• Works closely with cross-functional teams, including product design, product management, and production, to identify and mitigate quality risks.
• Audits production processes, raw materials, or suppliers/vendors to ensure that established quality standards are met.
• Conducts root cause analysis for defects, non-conformities, or other quality failures.
• May be responsible for ensuring compliance with formal external quality standards, such as ISO 9001.

Manager Specific Requests:

• Works closely with suppliers to resolve nonconformances and corrective actions.
• Technical expertise. Ability to identify and seek needed information/Research skills. Problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Basic Qualifications

Associate's Degree & 0-3 years experience. 

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Quality or Engineering.
