The Opportunity:
Our location in Lake Forest, IL currently has an opportunity for the Area Scientific Director-
Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe.
The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments and informatics systems are often the first step in patient care decision making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.
The Area Scientific Director will lead the creation, development, and implementation of programs and projects within Medical Affairs to enhance Medical and Scientific Leadership. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting FAM studies
- Providing technical consultations on products
- Delivering conference presentations
- Managing Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)
- Gathering laboratory customer insights
- Conducting internal trainings
- Overseeing product launches
- Developing medical guidelines
- Addressing technical needs for new and existing products
- Handling complaints
- Providing general technical education
This role collaborates closely with Medical and Scientific Research, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Commercial, Quality, Regulatory, and Technical Operations to support these activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Maintain Standards: Stay updated on medical and technology trends in laboratory medicine and understand core medical and scientific literature related to product implementation and clinical applications.
- Project Execution: Create, develop, and execute medical and scientific projects, education, and engagements for patients, clinicians, and laboratory personnel.
- Technical Expertise: Serve as the technical SME within the field and Medical Affairs team, participating in troubleshooting and problem-solving for customers, and acting as a liaison between Technical Operations, Quality, Regulatory, and R&D. Develop and run FAM studies as needed for product launches.
