About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Director to lead the first phase of our project with a large car rental group to redesign the their company websites. This role requires an individual with strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and experience working in large organizations with multiple stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in technical direction, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration.
Engagement Duration: 8/12 - 9/6 (20 hrs/week), 9/9 - 10/4 (4-5 hrs/week)

What You'll Do

  • Lead a comprehensive audit of the current websites to assess the technical infrastructure, codebase, and integrations.
  • Develop a strategic approach, including feature recommendations and page requirements based on audit findings.
  • Present findings to stakeholders, providing actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with the client and development partners to understand the ongoing backend re-platforming workstream and its impact on Phase 2 of the redesign.
  • Define the handoff process and requirements for the front-end development partner.
  • Develop a detailed scope and project plan for Phase 2, ensuring alignment with all stakeholders.
  • Create a comprehensive Technical Approach document outlining the strategy and recommendations.
  • Prepare an Executive Summary highlighting key findings, risks, and opportunities.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison between our team, the client, and other involved partners.
  • Navigate the complexities of working within a large organization to ensure smooth collaboration and alignment.

Pay Range

  • The expected pay range for this role is $122 -151 per hour
  • Our company has three regional pay bands that it adheres to depending on your location, we reference them as US 1, US 2, and US 3.
  • US 3 is our base pay. Examples of cities in US 3 are Portland, Houston and Miami.
  • US 2 pay is 7.5% higher than US 3 to meet the market rates. Examples of cities in US 2 are Los Angeles, Chicago and Seattle.
  • US 1 pay is 15% higher than US 3 to meet market rates. Examples of cities in US 1 are ​​Brooklyn and San Francisco.
