About the role
This position is under the direction of the Manager of Logistics & Operations to support Campus Relocations, Mail and Shipping Services at Florida Tech. As Team Lead you will liaison and execute the movement of offices, departments, furniture, materials, goods, and other equipment. You must possess efficient Microsoft Suite, Technical, and Communication skills to facilitate service tickets, document management, data entry, documentation retention, and drafting relocation requirements (i.e. Scopes of Work.) As Team Lead you ensure shipping, receiving, and distribution activities in the warehouse and mail room and carried out efficiently and within time constraints.
The Team lead may temporarily support as backup to the Manager when needed. Ensure the timely and accurate availability of inbound and outbound parcels and mail to students, faculty, and staff. Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, including effectively communicating (written and verbally) with students, staff, and faculty via various communication channels in a professional manner. Must have the critical thinking, problem-solving, time-oriented, time-management abilities, and an uplifting and positive demeanor. Physically able to be in the outside environment and be physically active in the campus move process (packing, movement of items, disassembly of fixtures or equipment, etc.) Perform all other responsibilities but are not limited to the job description.
Hours: Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm and occasional overtime (weekends or extended hours) as needed.

Responsibilities Include:
- Correspond effectively through various communication channels for planning, facilitating, and executing service requests (campus movement, on and off-site equipment, and materials transport of shipments or goods.) Support on and off-site surveys of the location to determine the accurate Scope of Work.
- Management of external vendors or in-house staff to execute requests.
- Initiate high-quality drafts of Scopes of Work and Maintain accurate records and documentation of all campus moves, warehouse, and other shipping processes for proper data retention and KPIs, including retaining all records electronically for a paperless process, invoicing.
- Support management in the development of Rough Order of Magnitude's (ROM) by providing relevant data.
- Coordinate in and outbound shipments with staff and other resources. Includes supporting the collection, management, data entry, and physical asset tracking of capital and non-capital assets and surplus inventory throughout campus. Ensure warehouse shipping supplies and equipment are adequately maintained for operational readiness. Track and account for equipment and supplies on loan to various departments. Will work with asset clerk to review capital assets and perform physical inventories or audits as requested.
- Maintain clear and accurate surplus inventory, controls, and records to include all furniture/equipment surplus, donations, disposals, sales of surplus, and other transactions related to excess materials. Must maintain surplus/inventory software up-to-date. Maintain the organization and cleanliness of surplus storage locations and relocation supplies within the warehouse (tools, packing materials, other items). Ability to receive feedback and adjust quickly to reorganization requests.
- Support the coordination and delivery of daily parcels throughout campus with the shipping team, and assist mailroom with same as volume dictates—research unidentified and undeliverable parcels to full resolution. Coordinate and support the pickup and delivery of high-priority, hazardous, or perishable items of a time-sensitive nature. Sort, process, and track inbound freight, packages, and mail utilizing tracking tools or software systems.
- Load and unload freight materials and packages. Lift, carry or move heavy objects up to 50lbs, if needed Able to operate heavy equipment if needed with proper training and certification for transport, off, or on loading of materials (i.e., forklift, dollies, hand-trucks)
- Work with the Manager of Logistics & Operations to schedule employee activities, taking into account scheduled campus moves and other warehouse activity. Oversees the duties of fellow team members and vendors to accomplish tasks.
- Maintain certifications for forklift, DOT, Hazmat, and other safety-related as required.
- Facilitate and ensure the safety requirements, protocols, and measures are carried out at all times for Shipping or Mailroom personnel as required by DOT, Hazmat, or OSHA requirements during transport, movement, warehouse, and shipping functions.
- Follow hazardous/safety material guideline and procedures within all Operations as required. Emergency Preparedness as directed.
