AIR CONDITIONING TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1. The Air Conditioning Technician follows prescribed safety procedures.

2. The AC technician completes a good information ‘hand-off’ with the previous shift’s AC technician and checks the work order system at the beginning of each shift. The AC technician wears the plant radio and carries the AC technician smart phone at all times.

3. The AC Technician completes all assigned tasks on the ‘AC Tech Daily & Weekly Task Log’. He must initial all tasks as they are completed. Some tasks are once per shift, others are multiple times per shift. These tasks include:

      a. Logging Conditions, correcting out-of-range conditions.

      b. Logging the Chillers

      c. Cleaning Screens and Advancing Filter Paper in Air Washers

      d. Checking Condensers and Cleaning up piles of Waste as they are created.

      e. Checking Filter Houses, correcting issues with differential pressure at filter houses.

      f. Operating Balers in the FRC and keeping the FRC in good order each shift.

      g. Responding to work orders and closing out all work orders that are completed.

      h. Make rounds through the plant multiple times during the shift checking air washers, condensers, filter houses, and performing routine tasks on task log.

      i. Create work orders for all non-routine tasks he must perform during the shift.

4. The AC Technician logs conditions in all air washer zones during the first half and again during the last half of the 12-hour shift. He makes adjustments and corrects deficiencies in the air washers to bring any out-of-range conditions back in line.

5. During refrigeration season, the AC Tech logs chillers and associated equipment two times during each 12-hour shift.

6. The AC Technician responds to work orders that come to the AC Tech phone and checks work orders on the computer
