Job Description

As a valued colleague on our team, you will lead the forecasting cycle and work with key stakeholders to provide operational and analytical support. 

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE

Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Lead the day-to-day operation, maintenance and improvement of Fannie Mae’s Retained Portfolio forecasting processes.
  • Develop thorough knowledge of the ALM model and process functionality. Work with other team members to automate, re-design and document production process workflows and analytics.
  • Identify and explain key drives of forecast changes with a focus on funding and liquidity.
  • Diagnose data related issues and work with data team(s) to resolve and implement solutions.
  • Enhance workflows with a goal to improve efficiency while reducing operational risk of using the QRM application.
  • Develop, configure, and implement changes or new capabilities in the QRM risk framework.
  • Assist with development of QRM functionality to streamline reporting and to reduce effort required for benchmarking exercises for new modeling developments and application upgrades
  • Assist with development and implementation of back-testing processes and review key benchmarks to ensure accuracy of the model and validity of the results.
  • Cultivate relationships and work with model validation and other key stakeholders on model testing, documentation and implementation of the ALM model.
  • Assist Director of team in a variety of projects and develop & maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the organization.

Qualifications

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experiences

  • 4 years related experience
  • Experience relating to financial modeling and asset liability management is a plus.
  • A strong understanding of accounting theory, economic conditions, and complex financial instruments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to explain complex matters to multiple constituencies.
  • Ability to anticipate issues and drive initiatives that achieve results.
  • Ability to function effectively with deadlines and minimal supervision.

Desired Skills & Experiences:

  • High degree of proficiency in using ALM models such as QRM (currently used at FNMA), ALM, Sendero, Kamakura or Bancware is highly preferred
  • Experience with Income & Liquidity forecasting
  • Experience with Data mining; familiarity with Fannie Mae data systems a plus
  • Experience with Capital Markets a plus
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to lead projects and/or work independently.
  • The role requires identifying the issues and solve issues independently so self-motivation and creativeness is preferred.
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent

Tools

  • Working with and developing reports in Tableau or other BI tools is a plus
  • Experience with SQL, data manipulation and analysis is preferred
  • Experience using Tableau or other similar BI tools is preferred
  • Experience working with SQL Studio, Toad or other similar SQL tools is preferred
