14The Role: Associate General Counsel, Litigation
The Team: The role reports to S&P Global’s Associate General Counsel – Head of Litigation. This role will be responsible for managing litigation and regulatory and internal investigations for the Company, its divisions, subsidiaries, and affiliates in the United States and abroad.
The Impact: The Associate General Counsel, Litigation is responsible for supporting a business of approximate $12 billion in revenue and over 35,000 employees world-wide, serving as a critical business partner and trusted advisor to our business and ensuring the protection and advancement of the Company's interests and reputation.

Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse range of complex litigation and regulatory and internal investigation matters.
- Develop and execute successful strategies to mitigate litigation and enforcement risk.
- Interact with regulators, including the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, State Attorneys General Offices, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and global civil and criminal enforcement agencies.
- Actively manage the performance, deliverables, and budget for outside counsel and other third-party providers.
- Provide proactive advice and counseling to business colleagues and other key stakeholders to mitigate risk and protect S&P.
- Cultivate a robust understanding of our divisions, understand the company's business imperatives, and manage risk to support those imperatives.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and reporting obligations.
- Support and contribute to S&P Global Legal Department projects and initiatives.
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate or equivalent with exceptional academic credentials and admitted, active, and in good standing in at least one US state bar.
- 7+ years of experience practicing law in a law firm, in-house, and/or government position and with significant experience with litigation, regulatory investigations, and internal investigations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to prioritize, remain organized, and execute effectively on established timelines to meet the business needs of internal clients.
- Strong ability to communicate issues clearly and succinctly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High level of interpersonal skills and diplomacy.
- Ability to foster a positive working environment.
- Willingness to travel within the U.S. and, on occasion, internationally, as needed. Minimal.
- In-house experience preferred.

The Location: US-NY-Virtual
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $167,900 to $303,575. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.
