Public Partnerships LLC (PPL) supports individuals with disabilities or chronic illnesses and aging adults to remain in their homes and communities through self-directed care. Our role as the nation’s largest and most experienced Financial Management Service provider is to assist those eligible Medicaid recipients to choose and pay for their own support workers and services within their state-approved personalized budget. Role Overview
The operational project manager role involves establishing and managing operational projects, aligning them with needs, constructing detailed plans, achieving milestones, and communicating progress to stakeholders. Must be adaptable to changing priorities and able to lead complex, high-impact projects in a fast-paced environment, supporting PPL’s self-directed care initiative.
Responsibilities
- Create comprehensive project plans based on RFP and proposal documents by defining project scope, goals, deliverables and resource requirements.
- Oversee new government program implementations and manage updates to existing programs.
- Identify and escalate risks from project and functional dependencies to effective resolution.
- Establish structure, encourage collaboration, and build consensus to ensure project success.
- Organize and lead project calls with key resources.
- Track project deliverables.
- Conduct regular project status meetings, communicate updates, and provide timely reports on project status, challenges, risks, and resolutions
- Manage project change requests and interventions to achieve project outputs.
- Conduct project evaluations, assess results, document lessons learned, and execute follow-up actions from project retrospectives.
- Monitor internal client requests and recommend solutions to increase team efficiency.
- Hold key resources accountable to the project plan.
- Ensure adherence to project management best practices, methodologies, and standards.
- Collaborate with multiple departments and their leaders to drive processes forward.
Required Skills
- Proven project management skills, including project planning, creation of the project plan, execution, monitoring, and control.
- Adaptable to waterfall, agile, and hybrid project delivery.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communicator.
- Planning and organizing.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project or similar project management tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, preferably with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 2+ years of experience managing complex, multi-year projects to delivery.
- Prior experience developing project plans based on client contracts, preferred.
- Prior experience in Medicaid financial management services, preferred.
Certification:
- Project Management Certification (PMP) preferred. May substitute certification for applicable experience.
