Position Summary
The Executive Director, Aetna Operations Enablement Insights & Reporting is a critical leadership role responsible for enabling enterprise decision-making across Aetna Service Operations through decision-driving insights and trusted performance reporting. This role inherits an established reporting team and evolves the function beyond “reporting outputs” to a scalable insights capability—translating operational, financial, workforce, productivity/ABX, and experience signals into clear narratives, root cause driver insights, and actionable recommendations. The leader is accountable for building strong cross-functional partnerships, establishing durable performance routines (including the monthly operating review cadence), and ensuring leaders have a consistent view of performance, risks, and opportunities. The leader must exhibit strong communication, executive presence, and influence skills.
Major Responsibilities:
- Lead the transformation of Aetna Operations Enablement Insights & Reporting, building a modern, scalable reporting and insights capability that enables enterprise‑level decision‑making across Service Operations.
- Design and deliver decision‑driving insights, translating operational, financial, workforce, productivity/ABX, and experience data into clear narratives, root‑cause drivers, and actionable recommendations.
- Establish and maintain trusted performance reporting, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across executive reporting and performance management routines.
- Own and evolve the performance management operating model, including leadership of the monthly operating review cadence and the shift from static reporting to insight‑led discussions.
- Build strong data foundations, partnering with Technology and Data teams to ensure effective data infrastructure, data warehousing, and reporting architecture that support scalability and speed‑to‑insight.
- Lead and develop a high‑performing insights and reporting team, setting clear expectations, strengthening analytical rigor, and fostering accountability for outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in reporting, analytics, performance management, operations, strategy, or finance, with demonstrated business impact
- Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional programs and delivering enterprise-scale reporting and insights capabilities that drive measurable outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
- Preference will be given to Hybrid candidates near an approved hub location.
- Experience in health insurance industry, preferably in service operations, claims, contact center operations, payment integrity, provider operations, or regulated environments
- Successful engagement with senior leaders in distributed organizations on initiatives that require alignment, prioritization, and synthesis
- Data-Driven: leverages data and insights to make informed business decisions; translates analysis into clear implications and recommendations
- Sets Direction: establishes a clear strategy and operating model; translates enterprise needs into a scalable roadmap for reporting and insights
- Operational Excellence: protects critical reporting routines while modernizing processes to reduce manual effort and increase speed-to-insight

- Communication: confident, succinct verbal communicator; produces effective written communication with minimal input from senior leaders
Education
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience.
Master’s degree in a quantitative field or MBA preferred.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$131,500.00 - $303,195.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
