Work Schedule: 15 hours per week, Monday-Friday, between 8am-5pm

Pay Rate: 15.00

Job Description: Graduate students assist archivists with organizing and preserving archival collections. Most of the time, students will work independently. Students will also be self-reliant in working with the public while monitoring the Reading Room, including enforcing Reading Room rules, answering the main phone line and assisting or transferring callers, checking out books, assisting researchers, and completing archival processing projects. Students must be: assertive while working with the public in the Reading Room; comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes; able to remain focused on paper and computer work for extended periods of time; responsible for entering work completed in daily reports; and reliable in submitting bi-weekly timecards without reminders. Students must also be able to: type; write neatly; follow written and oral communications; answer the phone and assist or transfer callers; be comfortable with Microsoft Word and BOX.
