Description
Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of hand surgery, with a focus on microsurgery. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must also be certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery or eligible for such certification. Completion of an accredited hand fellowship is required.
Teaching responsibilities may include clinical and didactic instruction of medical students, orthopedic surgery residents, and hand fellows.
Clinical responsibilities may include building a practice in hand surgery, with additional duties in orthopedic surgery depending on candidate training.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include clinical and/or basic science investigations in the field of orthopedic surgery and, specifically, hand surgery.
The faculty appointment will be in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. Applicants in mid-career are encouraged to apply.
