Baptist Health Medical Group is seeking a dedicated <b>Medical Assistant</b> to join our Primary Care team in the Shelbyville Road area.</p><p>In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced providers to deliver exceptional care while building meaningful relationships with patients. Whether you’re an experienced Medical Assistant or a recent graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.</p><p></p><h2>What You’ll Do</h2><p>As a Medical Assistant, you will:</p><ul><li><p>Provide direct clinical support to physicians and advanced practice providers.</p></li><li><p>Obtain vital signs, collect patient history, and reconcile medications.</p></li><li><p>Prepare patients for examinations and assist with patient flow throughout the clinic.</p></li><li><p>Document patient information accurately in the EPIC electronic medical record.</p></li><li><p>Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up care.</p></li><li><p>Process prescription refill requests and prior authorizations.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate diagnostic testing and specialty procedures.</p></li><li><p>After successful completion of clinical competency, perform clinical procedures such as:</p><ul><li><p>EKGs</p></li><li><p>Phlebotomy</p></li><li><p>Laboratory testing</p></li><li><p>Injections and vaccinations</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Maintain a safe, organized, and patient-focused clinical environment.</p></li></ul><p></p><h2>What We’re Looking For</h2><p><b>Required Qualifications</b></p><ul><li><p>High school diploma or GED.</p></li><li><p><b>One year of experience</b> providing direct, hands-on patient care in a medical office, clinic, or similar healthcare setting, including duties such as:</p><ul><li><p>Obtaining vital signs</p></li><li><p>Documenting patient history and medications</p></li><li><p>Performing clinical procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, or administering injections</p></li></ul></li></ul><p><b>OR</b></p><ul><li><p>Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on clinical experience.</p></li></ul><p></p><p>Additional requirements include:</p><ul><li><p>Successful completion of Medical Assistant orientation and clinical competency assessment upon hire.</p></li><li><p>Basic computer skills (experience with EPIC or another electronic medical record system is a plus).</p></li><li><p>American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.</p></li><li><p>BAT and DOT certifications within 90 days of hire for Occupational Medicine positions.</p></li></ul><p></p><h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2><ul><li><p>Current Medical Assistant certification through <b>AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, or AAMP</b>.</p></li><li><p>Or graduate of an accredited LPN or RN program with current unrestricted licensure.</p></li></ul><p></p><h2>Why Join Baptist Health Medical Group?</h2><p>At Baptist Health Medical Group, you’ll become part of a team committed to delivering exceptional patient care in a welcoming and supportive environment.
