2024 Summer Intern, Engineering and Maintenance

We have an exciting, unique opportunity for a summer internship in our Engineering & Maintenance department at our Tampa, FL location.  In this role you will interact with the site leaders as well as all levels of colleagues across the Tampa location.   Become part of a talented team, building core technical and business skills while gaining exposure to the dynamic pharmaceutical industry.   
 
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about their work, will enjoy working closely with other members of the organization to contribute to the success of Lonza, will utilize technology resources productively, and will be able to work on a wide range of tasks. As an Intern here at Lonza, you will support priority projects for the business based on need and expertise. 
                                                                                             
Key Responsibilities 
2024 initiatives include, but are not limited to the following areas: 
•    Critical equipment spare part identification system and application 
•    Development of a Mean Kinetic Temperature calculator for storage area temperatures 
•    Equipment assessment for Strategic Replacement Plan 
•    Determination of Utility System capacities and available capacities
 
Key Requirements 
•    Excellent verbal and written communications skills 
•    Self-motivation and the ability to contribute as a team member 
•    Ability to organize, plan and execute projects 
•    Research skills and attention to detail 
•    Completion of sophomore year (typically 60 credits) working towards a Bachelor, Master, or PhD degree in a related field Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (out of 4) required  
 
This is a paid 10-week internship.  It is expected that the candidate would work full time from beginning on or around May 27th, 2024.
