The Senior Associate Cybersecurity Engineer contributes to developing the cybersecurity engineering roadmap, and delivers/designs secure systems, cyber applications, technical projects and regulatory and risk requirements. This includes cybersecurity engineered solutions, framework, program optimization, vulnerability remediation, metrics reporting, performance analysis and mitigation of operational risk in a high velocity culture. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

We are looking for a technical Cybersecurity engineer, who can drive the Security Orchestration Automation and Response (SOAR) development lifecycle, in support of the security operations & Incident Response teams. Along with the skills of developing automated solutions, individuals should have a background and or knowledge in cloud infrastructure in particular experience deploying cloud platforms primarily through infrastructure as code and automation. Individuals should also have experience testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues within Python or other programming languages. 

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, standardize, and maintain efficient and reusable Python code or other programming language

  • Write, test, and maintain automation scripts and or workflows within SOAR platform

  • Review, test, debug, and resolve technical issues throughout all stages of Software Development Life Cycle

  • Ability to navigate and adapt to a fast-paced ever-changing environment with a team of like-minded, cross-functional individuals

  • Develops engineering specifications to ensure risk, compliance, and assurance efforts to conform with security, resilience, and dependability requirements at the software application, system, and network environment level

  • Assists cybersecurity architects in the design and development of security solutions consistent with business goals and risk tolerance

  • Validates current and future state architectural models to assess impact across assigned Cybersecurity technology systems

  • Ensures compliance to audit, regulatory and legal requirements. Designs and implements solutions to align with the Cybersecurity Strategy

  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with peers and internal business partners. Manages relationships with security partners and vendors. Maintains in-depth knowledge of security trends, threats and attack techniques

  • Drives research innovation and continuous coverage of malicious activity in custom intelligence research tools. Maintains in-depth knowledge of security trends, threats and attack techniques

  • Correlates incident data to identify specific vulnerabilities and makes recommendations that enable expeditious remediation

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

  • Bachelors – Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics, Information Security, Information Technology

  • 1+ Years – Information Security, Application Security, Security Engineering or related

Internal applicants only: technical proficiency rating of advanced beginner on the Dreyfus engineering scale

Preferred Qualifications

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience developing with Python

  • Prior consulting experience

  • Experience with container services (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)

  • Linux administration experience

  • Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, Google, or Azure)

  • Experience using Agile methodologies

  • Experience in API development/consumption

  • Demonstrated proficiency in cyber security platforms: SOAR, SIEM, IDS/IPS, DLP, WAF, Endpoint Security
