About the role

Job Summary:

The Senior UX Designer, works hand-in-hand with Product Management and Software Development teams to deliver experiences that delight users. Continuously develop our design system and improve the product’s user experience using iterative practices. Designers balance doing research, building prototypes and testing them with delivering ready-to-develop designs. They gather data and generate insights from a variety of user research tools and methodologies to inform our design perspective.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as part of the team for user experience design for the end-to-end customer journey; inclusive of website, native apps (iOS and Android), and custom built software for in-store and above-store applications.

  • Collaborate with Product leadership to define features and contribute to the overall direction of your project.

  • Design flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and rapid prototypes.

  • Drive meaningful understanding of data and customer insights to qualify experience opportunities, and inform design decisions.

  • Strategize with product partners on new product opportunities, articulating experience vision and planning and executing against that vision with your team and cross-functional partners.

  • Work hand-in-hand with the team on deep dive sessions, design sprints, design reviews and production of design deliverables, ensuring deliverable excellence.

  • Be accountable to key digital metrics; develop a “test and learn” ethos to improve key metrics.

  • Partner closely with the development team to drive successful implementation of the UX design specification. Resolve any implementation issues that affect the design.

  • Stay current on emerging industry trends, and the competitive landscape to provide insight on ways to improve usability, and website functionality.

  • Create interactive prototypes for both internal use and testing needs.

  • Present designs to IT Leaders and be able to express the rationale and data behind design decisions.

  • Provide input on UX Roadmap.

  • Develop visual designs that demonstrate an advanced understanding of information architecture, task flows, user journeys, and site/application structure by partnering with other members of the UX Team and developers to build products that are functional and beautiful.

  • Create visually stunning designs for digital products working from concept to implementation, including deliverables such as design systems, high-fidelity design compositions, element collages, style guides and/or pattern libraries, progressive enhancements or best-practice based recommendations, and interactive prototypes.

  • Create interactive prototypes for both internal use and testing needs.

  • Clearly express the rationale behind your design decisions to internal teams in meetings and formal presentations

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 5+ years of experience as a UX designer.

  • Minimum of 3 years designing for mobile apps and/or ecommerce (web, mobile).

  • Bachelor’s degree in HCI, Visual Design, related field or equivalent experience.

  • Solid experience with design tools (Sketch, Adobe Create Suite, etc.) and prototyping tools (InVision, Figma, etc).

  • UX expertise demonstrated through research plans and outputs, customer journey articulations including flow diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes.

  • Diverse project experience specific to UX specialization through key product phases: research, concepting, UX prototyping, wireframing, support/coordination with UI partners on visual design and post-production analysis and optimization.

  • Experience in ecommerce specific design.

  • Understanding and experience with service design principles.

  • Ability to think at a high level about product strategy and vision, and still execute on the small details and clarify how everything fits together.

  • Ability to coordinate across multiple projects effectively; manage scope and deliverables, report on progress.

  • Prior experience working with agile development teams.

  • Ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously and multi-task in an agile environment.

  • Familiar with web responsive design, iOS and Android design guidelines.

  • Familiar with accessibility (ADA) guidelines.

  • Deep knowledge of design patterns across multiple platforms.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
